Building Division

Our goal is to make sure buildings and sites in Solvang are safe and habitable for people to live, work and play. The Building Division enforces established codes and regulations to ensure that new structures are in compliance with these codes and regulations for the health, safety and welfare to our residents. We strive to be creative, helpful, and responsive with an empathic understanding of customer needs. We encourage willing compliance by promoting public awareness and administering regulations in a thorough, fair, and unbiased manner.

**Building Permit Inspection Schedule Notice**

Building permit inspections are typically conducted every Tuesday and Thursday. However, due to upcoming holiday office closures, inspections will not be available on the dates listed below. Please plan accordingly when requesting inspections.

• Thursday, November 27
• Thursday, December 25
• Thursday, January 1

Drop in office hours:

8:30 am 12:00 pm and to 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm Monday through Friday.

Inspections

All issued permits require an inspection. Inspections currently occur only on Tuesday and Thursdays. Request for inspections should be phoned in 24 hours prior to inspection.
