About David Brown
A native of California, I have lived in the valley since 1991, raising a family, working as a mortgage lender, and a lifelong community volunteer. Serving the community as an active Rotary member of 30 years, volunteer for Boy Scouts for 25 years, charter member of the SYV YMCA, coaching and being an umpire for Pony Baseball for 12 years, working as a 4H Leader for 5 years, Viking Charities of Solvang, Pirate Football Boosters, multi-gallon blood donor, Wheels and Windmills, and Old Mission Santa Inez are just a few examples of my community engagement and service.
My first career was in farming in the Central Valley near Porterville, California. However, most of my business career is in finance and operations for real estate, investment banking, technology, and medical services. I have served the California Superior Court as a court appointed receiver for business and admitted as an expert witness.
My bachelor’s degree is from Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo in Agri-business management and an MBA degree from Pepperdine.
I am a California licensed real estate broker, licensed mortgage loan officer and private pilot. Over the past decades, I started and run several business ventures including owner of Rx2Live, a medical product and service aggregator for physicians and clinics and a full-service mortgage banking company for HighTechLending as branch manager, all operating from my downtown Solvang office since 2008.
I am married to my beautiful wife, Karen Brown, who is also a serial entrepreneur owning several Solvang businesses and is current director of Meals on Wheels for Atterdag at Home.
