About Elizabeth Orona-District 4
Born and raised in Southern California, Elizabeth landed in her dream community of Solvang in 2014, joining her other family members already in Santa Barbara County based in Santa Barbara, Santa Maria and Buellton. Serving the community as a City Council member is a great honor to be part of the City Leadership and serve the people who make this a uniquely compelling City.
Bringing 35 years of business experience in the IT and Technology Industry, Elizabeth built a successful career in leadership roles for a few of Silicon Valley’s largest Technology firms. Responsible for developing and delivering complex technical solutions and sustaining customer relationships, Elizabeth has diverse industry experiences in Healthcare, Media and Entertainment, Financial Services and Insurance, Manufacturing, Telecom and High Tech, having done business with some of the largest Global 500 organizations in the world. Those experiences included extensive travel in the U.S., Europe, Mexico City, and Canada, where exposure to different cultures and business approaches reinforced the benefits of being collaborative and creative in solving challenges.
Elizabeth has dedicated extra-curricular time as a Co-Chair for Women in IT since 2014, Leader for Diversity and Inclusion as a facilitator for Unconscious Bias Training, a sponsor for STEM programs and networks for Girl’s Youth, and a member of Women’s Leadership Forums since 2004. More recently, Elizabeth became a founding partner in a technology start up, developing Mobile Application tools for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing community, ensuring communication and access to services is more available from the combination of smart phones/tablets and mobile technology.
Elizabeth earned a Bachelor’s of Science from U.C.L.A. in Mathematics and Applied Sciences.
