The Special Events Guide to Best Management Practices (BMPs) offers simple, actionable tips to event planners organizing special events for the community:

• Place mobile food facilities or portable toilets away from storm drains
• Keep wash water out of storm drains
• Dispose of wash water and/or wastewater correctly
• Manage cooking oil and grease responsibly
• Collect recyclable materials in clearly marked containers 
• Properly manage waste (including trash and litter, pet and animal waste, green or wood waste)
