Welcome to the City Clerk's Office of the City of SolvangAs City Clerk for the City of Solvang, I provide a variety of services to the public, City Council, and City Departments. These include the care and custody of official City Council legislative actions, preparation and distribution of City Council agendas, staff reports, minutes, resolutions, ordinances, and agreements, administration of regulations relating to the Fair Political Practices Commission, Municipal Code maintenance, receiving and filing claims against the City and processing public records requests, and also serve as the city's Risk Manager. City Council Agendas and Meetings - The City Clerk, in conjunction with the City Manager, prepares and distributes City Council agendas, prepares minutes; maintains an index of all legislative actions including agreements, resolutions, and ordinances, and publishes ordinances as required by law. Regular Solvang City Council Meetings are held on the second and fourth Mondays of each month at 7 p.m. in the Council Chambers at the Municipal Center, 1644 Oak Street. Boards and Commissions - The City Clerk coordinates recruitment and appointments by the City Council to City boards and commissions, administers oaths to said board and commission members. Municipal Code - Applicable City ordinances are prepared in code book form. You can review a copy of the code at the City office or at the Solvang Public Library. It can also be viewed online: Solvang City Code Elections -The City Clerk is the elections official for the City and in conjunction with the Elections Division of Santa Barbara County conducts consolidated municipal elections. Fair Political Practices Commission (FPPC) Statements - The City Clerk is the Filing Officer for election campaign reports and Statements of Economic Interest (conflict of interest) for the City Council and Council candidates as required by the State Political Reform Act. Employees and members of boards and commissions designated by the City's conflict of interest code are also required to file Statement of Economic Interest Form 700.
